who i am.

Ui-Seng François is a multidisciplinary storyteller and freelance artist from Baltimore City, MD who is committed to global healing. She has performed professionally on Broadway as well as the Joyce Theater, Everyman Theatre, Baltimore Centerstage, The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Motor House and more, in addition to producing her own projects. Ui-Seng is currently a company member in Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE. She is a proud graduate of the Baltimore School for the Arts (Acting, 2018) and the Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University (BFA Dance, 2023).

where i’m from.

Ui-Seng François began her performing arts journey at a young age, performing in community productions and school plays. In 2007, at age 7, Ui-Seng began formal dance training in the Baltimore School for the Arts’ (BSA) after-school TWIGS Program. She later moved on to study Theatre at BSA (2018) and upon graduating high-school, attended the Peabody Conservatory of The Johns Hopkins University for a year of dance training before making her Broadway Debut in the revival of West Side Story in 2020. Ui-Seng has since produced various creative projects such as short films and interdisciplinary plays. She is currently a company member in Ronald K. Brown/EVIDENCE while continuing to freelance and develop her personal creative practice.

Throughout the years Ui-Seng has performed in works nationally and internationally including: Max Roach 100 at the Joyce Theater (2024), The Broadway Revival of West Side Story (2020), The Brighton Fringe Festival (2018); Everyman Theatre’s production of ‘Wait Until Dark’ (2016); The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s production of ‘Hairspray! In Concert’ (2016); Palm Springs Dance Festival (2019); Lauren Gunderson’s one woman show, ‘Natural Shocks’ (2018); Baltimore Ceasefire Festival (2019); and Dance & Bmore’s musical ‘Voices of Carmen’ (2020) among many others.

She has worked with choreographers such as: Ronald K. Brown, Brinae Ali, Mike Esperanza, Kevin Iega Jeff, Anne Teresa de Keersmaeker, Sidra Bell, Yin Yue, Katherine Helen Fisher, and Matthew Cumbie to name a few.
