((2020))

2020 was a year of self-reflection. I reflected on myself and my place in the world, exploring within and without. I found myself isolated, not only from the physical presence of others but on a virtual level as well. Staying away from the media helped to maintain my internal peace but not without creating space for disconnect. Many times I felt secluded, trying to understand myself and the world around me from my cocoon. Nonetheless, the prominent events of 2020 could not be completely kept from my conscious-- they weighed heavily.

within 2020

consists of a photo series and video. It is an exploration of the relationship of inner + outer, within + without, peace + chaos, and the fine line that lies between both landscapes. How does one serve the other? How can we be vessels of transmutation?
